A Civil Religious Debate

Again, do you know what the difference is between an ape vs a primate?

Because the fact that you think evolution tells us we evolved from apes seems to indicate that not only do you not understand evolution, but you don't even understand much at all about hominids.

You don't know the difference between an ape and a primate, do you?

Logic: reasoning conducted or assessed according to strict principles of validity.

I feel the need to give you the definition, because your use of the word seems to imply you don't know what it means.

You don't even understand what the word "animal" means, but you declare it to not matter.

It's no wonder it's impossible to have a legitimate conversation with you.

God?

I believe in Pragmatic Agnosticism, which means I believe that the existence of God(s) can neither be proven, nor disproven at humanity's current state.

Jesus?

I believe that the man himself existed as per Roman historical records, and I believe he was a religious leader in Israel. I think he had a lot of great things to say, and some pretty shitty things to say (though those were in keeping with the times, I suppose). I definitely don't believe he was the son of any god, nor do I believe that his mother was a virgin when she gave birth. Occam's Razor and all that.

And the Bible?

A religious text not unlike the Quran or Torah (well, the second is kind of cheating for obvious reasons). I fundamentally disagree with the underlying concept, and find the God involved to be one of if not the most "evil" (I put in quotes because I don't believe in the concept of objective evil) deities ever invented, and strongly believe that if a God did exist, he would be nothing like what is described in the Abrahamic religions.

I also believe you proved my point about ignoring what is said to you.

One can't ignore something they do not believe exists.

A simple fact you can't seem to understand.

Since you've made it clear that you pretty much ignore anything I say, I'll let other Christians talk to you:

Do you know what biological kingdom homo sapiens belongs to?

This is a test, by the way.

Jesus christ your response was disconnected. You completely ignore my post, make arrogant assumptions about me, then preach at me.

Your inability to respond to what people say to you is downright staggering.

I like how you say "Do you read" whilst responding with something entirely irrelevant from the post you are responding to.

You aren't paying attention. The genealogy of Adam would follow the standard time that he created after the initial week.

Now stop preaching at people, and respond to what they actually said.

You know, like an adult.

Wait, do you actually think the story of Adam happened, literally?

Because if so, that would essentially require you to believe the world is only 6,000 years old (if you trace the genealogy of Adam in the Bible).

Ha!

Good luck :P

That's because he is essentially a troll. Try for however long you'd like, you won't get a legitimate conversation out of him.

Not a single part of that addressed my last post. You simply repeated the very premise that I was questioning.

So if someone says I don't believe in God, they are saying after really applying thought I believe this and believing is I am certain by way of being convinced.

That's referred to as Positive Atheism. Negative Atheism is saying that after seeing the arguments in favor of theism, they simply aren't convinced. Atheism itself is not a positive claim, so Positive Atheism is by no means the default form.

So when someone says they believe there is no God, sometimes it's a true belief. But most times its an assumption view.

You truly have zero basis for making that claim. You have already demonstrated that you know incredibly little about the mindset of atheists, so please, stick to discussing your own beliefs and views, rather than attempting to tell others how they think.

But time exists without any celestial bodies. You seem to be claiming that because on the 4th day God created the means we use to determine a day (as well as a month and year), that time must have began then.

But, again, time exists as a completely separate concept apart from our moon, our sun, or even our planet. So why would time have started then?

Everyone knows there is a God. It is written on your conscience. And evident in nature. And is seen in others.

And with that you established an inability to hold a legitimate conversation on this topic.

You are behaving incredibly arrogantly.

Tangible: Perceptible by touch.

So how has god showed himself in a tangible way?

Atheism is a convenient truth accepted without thorough investigation.

Atheism is a lack of theism. That's it. Some people come to that conclusion without investigation, others come to it through a life of investigation. It is the height of arrogance to try to tell people what led to their religious beliefs.

Not because God didn't make Himself clearly visible, but because ignoring God is convenient, and falling back on prove it is no effort!!

You can't ignore something you don't believe in.

You think no effort to prove He doesn't exist is acceptable.

No effort is needed to prove he doesn't exist, if your atheism is premised on there being a lack of evidence to prove he does exist.

One can't be an atheist because they don't want to be accountable to something they don't believe in. That would, itself, require a belief in god, which precludes atheism.
