The universal myth
Is there a myth that is universal enough that everyone remains susceptible to it?
Something like: "Because of my superior understanding, I no longer need to be concerned about the problems that beset only those of inferior understanding"
A universal truth: Almost 99% of everything is bullshit. Examples are: Social engineering propaganda: "Unity in Diversity" or "Clean Coal" which is oxymoronic. When propagandists act on their belief that the truth alone isn't strong enough to win people over, they demonstrate a distinct lack of faith in their factual support. Side: It's all BS

There are no provable truths or myths. I will say, however, that I believe that most things that people have accepted are only accepted because it's easier to live by certain codes than to try and liberate your mind as much as possible. To be truly free is scary for most people (which is why Conservatives and Liberals exist, in the first place). Side: A system exists
For a myth to be universal, it must be proven false and every human must believe it to be a myth. You might call any dead religion (meaning one with no current followers and one in which the inventor was known to falsify everything) a universal myth. As for a specific example, I am uncertain. Side: Any Dead Religion
