Thewayitis's Waterfall RSS

This personal waterfall shows you all of Thewayitis's arguments, looking across every debate.

You can reword it as a definition, I just didn't take the time to redefine another man's words.

Religion: "Any absolutist attitude is always a religious attitude, and in whatever respect a man becomes absolute, there you see his religion." Carl Jung.

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination."

Albert Einstein

A view that we have not met God and therefore don't really know him, would be a more reasonable approach. No religion knows the true God. All religions maybe talking about the same god, but may have the details about god wrong. Religions are formed by man trying to identify what and who God is.

I don't see in any way that there is a conflict, because a hospital, charity, etc, that bears a religious name or has ties to a religion is not a church. These places or organizations are supposed to be for the benefit of society as a whole and not strictly for the pushing of ideas on others. If a hospital, organization only wants to aid its members and not society, this would be a different story. These places are open to the public, not just its' members.

They didn't order any religion to preach the use of birth control, churches are exempt. If Catholics don't like helping those outside their religion, then their hospitals should be deemed as private hospitals and not except money from any type of insurance that doesn't fit their religion.

Room for thought, does the Catholic church feed only the hungry that doesn't steal, kill, commit adultery, etc.

"People that live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones."

Ever notice how fragile most atheists egos are, yet they think nothing about preying on those that have religion.

Pick on an atheist and they cry. The religious don't shed a tear, even when stoned and thrown in lions' dens. Cruel words are nothing new. Being persecuted, nothing new. What evil lays in one's heart, that makes hatred so strong?

Yes, by definition they are. All religions including those of atheist/agnostic origin are cults.

Cult: 5a) great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad Merriam-Webster

If one is in college does that mean he/she can boost of being educated. Attend one quarter/semester and your educated. Why go? The same can be applied to people that claim to be Catholic and yet never attend.

To be Catholic, one must be baptized, take conformation, and be a member of a congregation.

catholic: Dictionary.com

1. broad or wide-ranging in tastes, interests, or the like; having sympathies with all; broad-minded; liberal.

2. universal in extent; involving all; of interest to all.

3. pertaining to the whole Christian body or church.

Catholic with capital c only pretains to the requirements listed above.

Just for the record I'm unable to unban him. Only did it to hear him cry. Mission accomplished.

This is true and yet atheists still fear it. Why ?

All religions. Your point ?

First off this was a phone poll. Secondly people often claim to be something they are not, like atheists being smart (Just making a point). Often people claim to be Catholic, etc. merely on the grounds their parents were and so they were listed as Catholic even though they may never attend church. In conclusion, this is only misinformation and not factual.
